KCA Elementary School provides 21st Century education for the holistic development of the child – spirit, soul, and body. The curriculum includes subjects outlined in the Ontario Curriculum, including additional activities in STEAM, Music, Arts and Languages and Sports at all levels. 

The following is a brief description of the subjects taught from Kindergarten to Grade 8.


Literacy skills/strategies, grammar, spelling, vocabulary development, creative writing, literature and poetry.


Computation (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division), Patterning and Algebra; Geometry and Spatial Sense; Data Management and Probability;

Computer Technology

Students are involved in weekly training in the Computer lab as well as incorporating the use of technology in all subject areas.

Christian Education

Bible classes and scripture memory is enhanced by Biblical integration in all subject areas.  In addition, CHAYIL principals of worship, wisdom, power, honor, favor, wealth and influence.are taught to develop good character and leadership. "Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men." ~ Luke 2:52.

History and Geography

Local, regional, provincial, national and world history and geography.

Science and Social Studies

Subjects are taught as outlined in the Ontario Curriculum and Guidelines in addition to supplementary books, field trips and group projects.


All grades are taught daily, basic language.

Physical Education

Students are exposed to a variety of games, sports and outdoor activities, as well as nutrition and hygiene.  Leadership and sportsmanship are key attributes of our P.E. program

Arts, Drama, Music

Students developing skills using a variety of materials, musical instruments and media.  


Students participate in multiple ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) activities such as competitions in poetry/speech, Spelling, Math, Science and Sports.

Field Trips

Curriculum is supported by interesting, diverse field trips.  Curriculum adaptation and enrichment are daily goals of each teacher so that the instructional needs of all students are met.


Students are involved in training in the Computer lab to familiarize them with keyboarding skills and age appropriate educational software.
